ACT Tourism commissioned Todd to airbrush a Floriade surfboard for Layne Beachley to use as she launched Floriade back in August. They were so impressed with his artwork that they commissioned a further seven surfboards. The surfboards were individually airbrushed with all seven standing together making one complete beach scene.
Tood and Layne 2007 U.S TourTodd and Natalie traveled to the US in September to check out the airbrush scene over there. While in North Carolina Todd studied under the amazingly talented photorealistic airbrush artist Dru Blair. Dru was an inspiring teacher and Todd learnt many knew airbrush techniques that have undoubtedly improved his artwork. If you get the chance, check out Dru’s awesome work on his website at

In Hawaii Todd called in to meet Dennis Mathewson, of Cosmic Airbrush, an awesome kustom painter who has been in the industry for over 30 years. Dennis’ work can be seen at As well as being a killer kustom painter Dennis makes his own 3D carvings of skull and dragon heads. These are applied to your tin ware and combined with some mighty fine airbrush work make an amazing 3D effect. Todd brought a few of them home to play with and the results have been outstanding. If you’re interested in 3D kustom paintwork give Todd a call and discuss your options.

Congratulations to our very happy Kick Ass Kustomer Hum who had a big day out at the 2007 South Coast Nationals Car, Bike and Truck Spectacular held in Moruya. Hum’s chopper has a Kick Ass real fire paint job incorporating skulls in the design. Hum’s chopper overall is very impressive. At the Nationals he took out an amazing 5 trophies for his bike: Meguirs Top Bike Custom Paint, Top Custom Bike, Top Show Bike, Top Mural/Graphic and People’s Choice Awards. Hum’s bike has everyone talking about it. It truly is a sight to be seen. ******************************************************************* Kustom Graphics Courses in early 2008Everywhere we go people are constantly asking Todd “How do you do those graphics?” and “Where can I learn to do that?” Kick Ass CoursesGRAPHICS 1: computer cut stencils; bullet holes; granite effect; tribals with effects using basecoat, marbelizers, and pearls |
